Another week draws to a close as well as the last full week of April, amazing that 2012 is already ¼ of the way over! Once again there was a lot going on in the Google World so this week’s Round-up will focus on the latest from the online giant.
- Google Drive – When Google titles its official April 24 Google blog post about the release of this tool “Introducing Google Drive … yes really”, readers know this is a service that has been a part of the online rumorville for quite a while. This should prove to be an outstanding tool, a new manner in which Google users can store and share a large assortment of documents. Google Drive has replaced Google Docs and new users can request access to the service by clicking the “Notify Me” button on that page.
- Google AdWords for Video – Google took this tool out of beta mode on Monday, April 23. AdWords for Video makes it possible now for businesses to advertise using video at an affordable rate. The tool is fairly simple to use, making it easy for even a novice online user to create compelling video advertising for potential clients.
- Google’s Matt Cutts explains Google search – An eight minute video from Matt Cutts, Google’s head of its web spam team was posted on April 23. Be sure to click the Search Engine Land link below to watch the video and gain some insight into how Google search works.
- SketchUp – Architects and designers have been able to use SketchUp from Google since 2006. This tool provided 3D modeling and was recently sold to Trimble. This very well could be another move that falls in line with similar elimination of tools during the “Page era”.
Thanks as always for taking the time to read Silverback Marketing’s weekly Round-up, we appreciate it. Have a great weekend!
